Teacher

I'm a substitute teacher rest of the week. I have to say I love it. I'm learning to be comfortable in the classroom, finding my voice and my style of teaching. Being a teacher is far from easy. A teacher's life is similar to the life of a professional fighter. One bad fight, and that's the end of your career. But if you're smart and patient, you'll learn the tricks. The classroom is a hard but exciting place. You'll never know what kind of effect you've have on the hundreds of children you teach. Teaching has it's ups and downs. Sometimes the sun is shining and you feel so confident in yourself and the next day you just want to punch everything moving. Sure the pay isn't something to brag about but I can honestly say that I learn something new almost everyday, and I grow alongside with these children. I have a influence in their lives one way or the other, for better and worse. I'll make mistakes, but I'll learn from them as well. What I'm trying to say is Find what you love and do it! I know I found something I love to do.

So what's behind all my philosophical words? I've just read a book that made me think about all this. The book is called Teacher Man written by Frank McCourt. I really advice everybody to read it. I especially love these lines from the book ; " There's nothing more dangerous than letting old men sit in the sun. They might be thinking. And it's the same with kids. Keep them busy or they might start thinking.

Ps: Don't mind the picture, but sometimes I feel like banging my head against the blackboard of frustration ;)

Monday

My day started with me waking up early to get to my university as fast as possible to print some papers before my course started. While I was sitting in the computer room a woman who was sitting next to me was sighed and looked stressed and I just couldn't help laughing to myself a little because it is what you expect on Mondays :)
Was in school from 8.30 to 17.30 and I'm exhausted! I was playing the piano with my piano teacher. Practicing for my exam that's coming up in the near future. I made the mistake today to know all my songs perfectly (according to my teacher) and now I have to pay for it! She suggested that I should play more advanced song for the exam, for example songs in G sharp and B flat! So kids... don't outsmart the teacher and don't try to do better, who are you trying to fool here??! the outcome will always be worse then it was before! Oh well, the only thing for me to do is start practicing.

Now to something entirely different. I've got some products for my hair from my dear friend for my birthday and last night, lack of doing, I started reading the directions at the back and was profound of what I just read! The products that I've got was from this new Aussie collection. I really like the products, they actually do wonders to my hair but the directions hahah blew me away. The thing that I read was going like this; "Before you start open the bottle cover (it helps)" hahaha and then spread a small blob-ette (technical term). Well it is nice to see that they actually thought about the "not so blessed with brains" population as well. God bless the Aussie- Take the Heat products!

Continue having a awesome Monday and smell ya later! :)

I'm Back

Hey peeps! I'm back! so now you have to put up with me once again! Was asked why I don't write no more and was demanded to start writing so... I'll give it one more shot! Last night I was at my friend Annis place. We drank some wine and had a good laugh. And I've learned a new word! My friend Linda had a interesting word for insult in swedish it was skymf, first time I've heard it and I have a hard time remembering it :D Well after that evening I have a little bit of headache but nothing major, woke up however from a noise that was coming from my dear neighbors. They were practicing Finnish at 9 in the morning!!! At first I thought that they turned up the TV very loud but then I hear; - Please listen to i once more and answer the following questions. Well at least I think that that was what they were saying (It's in Finnish ----> me no good!) because there was a pause and then the voice said something about questions, well anyhow I didn't get that much sleep....

Over and out!

Perfect

Found a quote today that made me really happy.. it brightened my day.
It goes like this;

“If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as Michelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music, or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.”

- Martin Luther King Jr.

Got my paycheck so I decided to pamper myself by buying two dresses and two pair of shoes :)

My Day

I couldn't sleep last night. Slept maybe 4 h, I don't know but when I finally got some sleep the door bell rang.. First I kind of thought maybe they will go away if I pretend that I'm not at home.. well they wouldn't stop ringing soo I got up, opened the damn door and was met by a huge family ( they had goth clothes on) I got scared, thought wtf is going on?? Well it was my roommates parents and her siblings. I went back to my room, was considering in sleeping some more but no! The kids started crying, fighting. The mother was yelling, cooking?? The worst thing was that I had to go to the bathroom but didn't dear to go out of my room because they only spoke Finnish... Now everybody who know me knows I do not speak Finnish... I and Finnish don't go together! Now parents always have something to say to ya. If it's "Oh you must be her roommate?" and then the conversation goes on, or because they made such a noise they would probably wanna apologize.. and I don't mind, I like chatting, but in a language I actually can respond to. And what if I got out of my room? What would I say.. aaahh yeah I'd ONLY lived in Finland for 18 years but here's a funny fact I don't speak Finnish!!? Yeah I don't think so!
Well they finally went and I was able to do whatever I had to do.
School was as usual as always, people stressing, I'm stressing and on and on but I actually got some work done.. I can say so long Newby and I hope I don't have to read you ever again!
Well have a good one! and I'll catch ya later!

Oh well apologies once again! A lot going on... Honestly I had the worst New Year. It all started with a phone call and you know it's a bad one when mom loudly pronounce the trilling words; "Oh my God"... Grandma was in the hospital and she wasn't getting any better...
We rushed to the hospital and was met by my cousin and uncles. I guess I was a little bit scared when we went in to see her, she was unconscious and the machines kept her alive. My tears couldn't stop rolling down my face, not that I was afraid of death or whatever but the fact that I brought me back to when dad died, so lifeless, so gone from the world...
Well you will be missed grandma and we love you!

Well even if there are bad news life goes on...
My cousins wedding of instance. It was a beautiful winter wedding with good food, nice company and of course the beautiful happy couple!
Sorry to say but have no pic. on this computer and my camera is back home with mom so you'll have to wait for the magical pic. that I took ;)

Another thing, my dear dear friend Aldijana had her "20- birthday" or she will, this Wednesday, but we celebrated her last night. I had a blast and the food mmm was njamiii :)
